News Alert!: WP Receives First National Foundation Grant
The Pioneer Portfolio of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has committed $50,000 to Wireless Philadelphia for the development of a series of “microsites” providing important health and social service resources to six vulnerable populations. The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, creators and sponsors of the health information website PhillyHealthInfo.org, will oversee the microsites' development.
The microsites will target six populations, including prenatal and postpartum women, behavioral health patients, youth “aging out” of foster care, and ex-offenders reentering the community. Each microsite will have a unique URL and will also reside on the PhillyHealthInfo.org site.
“This is a unique opportunity to harness the Internet to fundamentally transform how low-wealth and vulnerable families access critical health care information,” said Greg Goldman, CEO of Wireless Philadelphia.
Many thanks to everyone at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for the wonderful grant! Click here to read the full release.
Sounds great!! But for all of these awesome things to work in everyones favor, you need a network that works!!
The network only works in certain areas, the area around the walnut st bridge has no coverage. Come on you need a company to build the network more, earthlink is gone. Keep up the great fund raising but we need a company to supply the network!!
